Karen Price Obituary

Karen Theresa Price passed away on February 7, 2026, leaving behind a family and community that will never quite be as loud—or as fun—without her in it. She is survived by her daughter, Lindsay Allen-Price, and her wife, Josie, her son, Benjamin Price, and his wife, Nataly; and her four beloved grandchildren, Trent, Tucker, Tate, and Tenley. She is also survived by her sisters, Theresa Lorenz and Mariann Jacobson, her sister-in-law, Debbie Lorenz, along with many nieces and nephews who all have a story or two that probably shouldn’t be told in an obituary. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Theresa Lorenz and her brother, Jerry Lorenz. Karen loved her family and friends deeply, but she wasn’t sentimental about it—she showed up, spoke her mind, and made sure everyone was taken care of in her own unmistakable way. She had a legendary sweet tooth, a loyalty to cold I.C. Light beer and good bourbon, and an enduring devotion to the Pittsburgh Pirates. More than anything, she loved to laugh—and she made sure everyone around her was laughing too. She was kind and generous, strong and spirited, and her laughter had a way of turning ordinary moments into memories. She believed there were no strangers, only people she hadn’t met yet. That spirit earned her the long-standing title of unofficial mayor of the Bierhaus, her late brother’s bar, where she held court for more than 20 years, building friendships and community one conversation at a time. And even beyond those walls, she carried that same light into every place she went. Wherever Karen was, people gathered, because Karen didn’t just enter a room—she changed it. Karen leaves behind a lifetime of stories, inside jokes, loud laughter, and people who are better for having known her. She will be missed more than words can say—but she will never, ever be forgotten. >At Karen's wishes, there will be a private celebration of life at a A later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen’s memory to the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, 201 N. Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, in honor of her beloved granddaughter.
